What different leadership skills do young leaders bring to the table?

In today’s workplace CEOs and managerial ranks are being filled with younger leaders.  This trend is progressing and it begs the question, “”what different leadership skills do young leaders bring to the table and how might current leadership best develop their skills?”"  According to an article from Chief Learning Officer, “”Younger leaders seem more able to switch gears and let go of old routines or good ideas that didn’t work out.  Teaching these leadership traits burdens the chief learning officer (CLO) with the responsibility of understanding what kinds of learning programs will best align with the demands of a younger workforce.  Heavy doses of experiential learning are best for younger leaders – not classroom instruction”" according to David DeLong, author of The Executive Guide to High-Impact Talent Management:  Powerful Tools for Leveraging a Changing Workforce.”"   Read more of this article at:  http://bit.ly/QhbjNR.

This article communicates that young people don’t benefit from being lectured.  Young leaders need a strong framework for development.  They succeed by learning from new experiences and being engaged in real-time critical thinking activities.  Young leaders are likely to embrace an environment that intertwines social learning and the use of technology.

TCG eLearning is an interactive and engaging learning program that recognizes everyone has a different learning style.  We recognize this difference by offering over 130 courses in a variety of media, including audio, interactive and video.  Don’t burden yourself with the responsibility of discovering what kinds of learning programs are the best fit for your leadership and management training!  Sign up for a free TCG CHEX eLearning demo and/or Contact us to learn how TCG CHEX eLearning can meet your needs!  Contact us here.

Organizations Spending More on Employee Development

A study by Bersin & Associates found that there has been an increase in spending on employee development and a shift in training to online and social learning. According to the study, “Most traditional classroom instructors now find themselves spending much of their time outside of a physical classroom to deliver more training online and in one-on-one sessions with learners.”

Employee development means continual education to ensure that employees are knowledgeable and constantly excelling. This is especially important in the home care industry where there are always new regulations and requirements. With our web-based program, TCG CHEX eLearning, organizations can easily meet mandatory training and orientation needs.

What benefits will your organization gain from teaming up with TCG CHEX eLearning?

• Courses specially developed for providers of care in the home

• Training Flexibility – anytime, anywherecompleted at learner’s pace

• Accurate Reports – multiple real time, on-demand reporting

Learning Is Still A People Business

An organization’s success with a new tool, technology, or approach depends on how this change is implemented. Change requires a shift in attitudes, behaviors, skills, and knowledge from management and staff. Long-term success is dependent upon how soon the change is adopted into not only work life but also organizational culture. The organization’s new tool, technology, or approach needs to be embraced by the organization as the “new normal.” Not all change is the same and different models must be used to make sure change initiatives are successful.

Lance Dublin, CEO and chief solution architect for Dublin Consulting, discusses these different models in the article Learning Is Still a People Business. He closes the article with seven valuable implementation tips for learning leaders. It’s worth taking a look!

Perception Of Learning Defined By Culture

What is the CFO culture in your organization? The conclusion of this article is that there are two separate camps for CFOs: there are those who believe learning is a good investment, and those who don’t. In the end, the real issue is that as a core competency, neither the learning profession nor the finance professions have what every pharmaceutical organization has: the knowledge and experience to separate the influence of learning from the financial impact.

What is the learning culture in your organization?
